Windpal Vintage Sax Room
Amesel
Serial: 891**
Original lacquer
All pads replaced
It is 5 digit Mark6 manufactured around 1960. Lacquer will be in the original condition in the so-called Amecell of American Assembly. I think that it is better to keep the condition firmly when thinking about the age though it is seen such as rust, the dent correction mark, and the solder re-attaching mark on the whole.
This individual is a sound that feels sharp in a dark image with a shadow, there is a presence unique to vintage musical instruments, it will reproduce the jazz sound of yesteryear.

More about SELMER Mark6
Mark VI has been produced for about 20 years from around 1954 to around 1973, and it still attracts many fans as a very popular model in the jazz scene. The serial is manufactured from 59,000 series to 230,000 units, but there seems to be a time when alto and tenor overlap with the next model Mark7. Mark6 is roughly around 1965 and there is a difference in sound characters. I can't say for sure, but before 1965, it was often described as astringent, round, etc., and after 1965 it seems to be bright, and there will be more expressions such as a sense of power. Soprano saxophone also changed from the production that was one piece at this time to the production that the lead pipe is attached as a separate part.
Roughly explain the sound tendency by age, alto is light 50,000 series to 60,000 series, sweet eyes, soft, 70,000 series to 90,000 series is astringent, sound with a little edge, 100,000 series - 100,000 series 110,000 series is astringent in a crisp feeling, 120,000 series to 130,000 series is a neutral and natural image, 140,000 series to 150,000 series sound to feel the distinctive density and unique stickiness of the edge, After 160,000 series, it is darker than the current saxophone, but it is bright when compared in Mark 6, and it is a sound with a sense of power with contours.
Tenor is the same image as the alto, but in the 90,000 series, there are also individuals who can feel the weight stickiness of the sound.
Because it often becomes a different image depending on the individual difference and the use process, please ask as a reference to the last, and find a famous machine that you can use for life. There is enough fun to bring up.
